Once again, I've gone a good long period of time without updating (16 days). So here's what I'm going to do. From now on, I'm going to update every single day, regardless of whether I have anything interesting to say. (That rhymed.)
As for what's happening in my life:
I just started back at school last Monday. I like most of my professors, although one of them has a constant "just wish I could get this over-with" tone in his voice. (I wonder why he's a professor as he seems to hate teaching so much.) Anyway, the rest of them are dandy. As usual, RateMyProfessors.com has come in handy. (That rhymed too.) From what I can tell so far, none of my classes should turn out to be unbelievably hard. 4.0 again? Please?
My 21st birthday was on Wednesday. I had three birthday dinners and three birthday desserts. Yeah, I wrung out the system. One dinner was at Carrabba's the Friday before my birthday (I got a free sundae); one was at Buffalo Wild Wings in Morehead on my birthday (Alex bought me a piece of chocolate cake); and one was at Arirang Garden the Friday after my birthday (my mom made me yellow cake and chocolate sauce). I got lots of money, an Alpaca [!] hat/gloves/scarf set, body wash and shampoo, a 2 lb. Rice Krispy treat, a reading light, earphones, and an iPod case.
I quit Effexor (aka venlafaxine; my antidepressant) finally. I can't say I'm 100% through the withdrawal period, but definitely almost there. I had a rough time of it for several days; I was violently angry without cause on more than one occasion, had a panic attack in the mall, began withdrawing from everyone, and thought seriously about self-injuring after I'd gotten back to school. At the same time, I think I'm becoming less boring/demure and more "me," the old me. Let's hope I'm not speaking too soon.
I've been reading a lot more. I finally got into Jane Eyre and finished the last 3/4 of it in less than a week after crawling through the first 1/4 for months, and even giving up and returning it to the library at one point. I'm definitely glad I decided to give it another go, because I loved it! The next book on my list is Deadline by Chris Crutcher. I purchased it last night and will start it tomorrow or Tuesday. It's a teen book so I think it'll be a piece o' cake.
Well, I guess that's really all I have to talk about. ♥
