Where is this season of VMars going? I mean, Season 1 was all, "Who killed Lilly Kane?" And then Season 2 was all, "Who blew up the bus?" But this season is like, "Who -- oh wait never mind it was this guy. But what about -- wait no, that was this other guy." If there's one overarching thread, it hasn't really presented itself yet. I'm ( Read more... )

There's not an overarching storyline this season. In an effort to draw in more viewers, they've cut it up, originally into three smaller stories, now just two (the rape story and then the dean's murder story). The rest of the season is supposedly just going to be episodic mystery of the week type stuff, from what I've heard. In other words, the show has been completely ruined. Rob Thomas says there's a 60% chance it gets renewed for next season, but who cares? It's a shell of its former self.

I wouldn't say it's a shell of its former self. I've liked most of this season. If the rest is just one-shot episodes, that's gonne be pretty lame, though.

I've enjoyed this season so far, but I mean now that they're dropping the on-going storylines, it's basically losing all appeal. Also, even though I've enjoyed this season, I do think it's been noticeably worse than the first two seasons. The writing just isn't as tight anymore; it relies way too much on pop culture references, but the rest of the dialogue is kind of flat. You can even notice a difference between the early season 3 episodes and the more recent ones in this regard. Plus, way too much Logan and Veronica drama. In previous seasons, their relationship (or lack thereof, as the case may be) was always a running story, but it wasn't the story. Now other characters just come and go. Mac joined the regular cast, and Parker and Piz are both regular cast members too, but they all just disappear for a while and we never hear anything about them. Wallace has barely been on the show; Dick has gotten a ton more screen time than Wallace. The show has become way too fixated on Logan and Veronica, at the expense of everything ( ... )

See, Logan was my favorite character throughout the first two seasons, and now they've just turned him into this whiny mope. He's only interesting when he's volatile.

I agree they need to make better use of their cast, although Piz and Wallace are playing pretty much the same role right now. They need to change it up a bit. I say go with one of two angles...either Piz and Veronica start going out already, or else Piz turns out to be a crazy serial killer. Either way works for me.

Also, Dick needs his own show. I'm serious. Dude's a genius.
