I don't know what "bunk" means yet, but I'm pretty sure that calgary fits that description.
They have a lot of slang here that I don't understand.
like... "cheets"
or "bligs"
any Idea?
apparantly they are both positive in nature.
"missgiggles", please fill me in.
I finally found the time on a day off to explore my new town, after a month and a half of pretty much nothing but work and parties...it was a welcomed treat.
I found a FREAKING AWESOME! book store downtown (forget the name)
aaaaaand they have everything I've been looking for + a great environment.
4 floors of cool.
free coffee
i'm guessing 20-30 couches
live jazz band
woah.
apparantly, the live music is a constant theme in their environment.
went to an exhibit, a couple of galleries (yes they exist here in texas)
and found a cafe down the block which made me feel at home.
lots of chess games in play, good records (I even heard a herb alpert track) and that hint of hippie stink that I would typically shy away from, but being home sick it was a welcomed treat.
love it.
So far I have been told that I talk really fast, that I have an "accent", and that my political views are "outdated" and "socialist brainwashing"
I disagree.
I think I'm pretty awesome as far as my head is concerned.
I like my head, it's got some great hair.
well, "OK" hair I guess.
what else... our house went to a calgary flames game a couple of days ago.
it ruled.
aside from that, not much.
I stick to the ghetto's that I know, and the people I hang out with.
ooooooooooh....my neighbor likes good music, and his band is looking for a bass player.
I'm not exactly the BEST bass player ever, but I can follow along, and I dig his shit so we'll see.
I have a garage, why not?
A L O T of people here do drugs.
heavy drugs.
and I make fun of them.
I can do that now,
sort of like the ex-jailbird, reformed christian type.
I'm awesome...
sometimes.
