I teared up during McCain's concession speech.
I teared up during Obama's speech.
My hope and optimism for our country swelled.
Just the historic magnitude of the situation was a blessing to witness.
I am very disappointed Prop 102 passed.
We took two steps back from tolerance, love and equality.

i agree with everything you just said.

i really just don't understand people sometimes.. i mean, i suppose i do, but i just don't think they look at the big picture. not too long ago women and african americans weren't allowed to vote, and now look. you used to not be allowed to marry outside of your race. i believe that one day gay marriage will be made legal in every state, and people will look back and think of how ignorant "we" all were. i mean, the constitution says..we are all equal, we all have the right to pursue our happiness...blah blah.. it's just so frustrating to think that most of the people around us...believe that their marriage won't be as special if two men or two women are allowed to marry. boo.

I felt exactly the same way!
and i was disgusted with this state after hearing the results for Prop 102.
I think confusion can be blamed. people didn't understand that they weren't trying to legalize it. i know i talked to a lot of people who would've voted differently had they taken the time to actually read the Prop. :/
