Ezekiel 1 - God, the unimaginable

The description of the Lord's glory is bizarre, frightening and amazing. It's not someone that any human on Earth can perceive. It's just so out there, different from our common knowledge. It is, basically, the unknown. No wonder Ezekiel "fell facedown". There is little doubt that this is God.

A creature with wheels and  four faces. The sound of their moving wings was like "the roar  of rushing waters".

Again, we see amazing scenes with a description of amazing creatures, as well as a "throne". Fire and light surrounded the figure on the throne, indicating power and majesty.

As "familiar" as we seem to be with God, we have forgotten how untouchable and awesome He is. In the face of that side of God, what can we do but follow Ezekiel's example?
