I think Vic Gundotra spends most of his days at Google huffing glue.
First off, if you've read his quotes from Google I/O this past week (like regarding Google's actions back in 2005 ) it's pretty obvious he does not perceive this "time" dimension in a linear manner as we mortals do.
More incredibly, he lives in a world where an organization with a monopoly on information distribution and advertising (of how both operate you need not worry!), practiced internet censorship, doesn't believe in privacy, and spies on networks worldwide would be the force against the system in 1984.
