[ACTION A; for housemates and possibly neighbors of 341 Brady Lane]
[When Sin finally awoke from his slumber, two things registered as not-quite-right:
a) He was currently nestled in a comfortable bed, and not atop a gravelly patch of dirt in the middle of nowhere;
b) His field of vision currently comprised of the range of both eyes

Excuse me... you seem to be bleeding.

Huh?
[Glancing himself over with a wince (and one eye- the right one squinted closed), he pats at his face and pulls away a blood-covered hand.]
What the... Am I really going this soft!?

Uh, I'm fine, really, but... What, you mean healing magic?
Reply
Yes, it's called a car, or an automobile. And yes, I mean healing magic. It's one of the few powers I've regained here.

What do you mean by 'regained'? So you got other magic, too?
[He'd been wondering, though it hadn't begun to worry him as much as it probably should have, but the fact that getting smacked by that hunk of metal hadn't forced him to generate even a few sparks was troubling.]

You're new here, aren't you? [chaos withdraws his hand] Those who are pulled here lose any powers they have, and become entirely human. Sometimes, the town gives them back after... Shall we call them horrible games?
[ooc: Up to you how healed the wound is]

New? I guess you could say that. Except I have no idea where the hell I am...
--Wait, what the hell do you mean, lose powers!? [Sin suddenly stiffens up, pulling chaos by his collar.] That can't be possible-- I mean, even if my magic gets sealed, there's no way I could just--
[He stops for a moment, hand over his eye balling into a fist. Is that why....?]

Um... it's a bit of an explanation. Why don't we move off the street, and I'll explain what I can to you.

[He glances up to see the line of drone drivers, waiting with near mechanical patience for them to move.]
Oh.. yeah, sorry.
[He stumbles back towards the sidewalk, ever losing his bearings in this weird new place.]

So what do you know, if anything, about this place?

I just woke up in a home I'd never seen before, and since then I've been lookin' around to figure out where the heck I am. But... this village, it ain't anywhere in Illyria, is it?
[If anything, it was a bit too built-up to be anywhere in that crappy kingdom. Maybe they were in A-Country...?]

The place is called Mayfield. It's a small town mirroring the nineteen-fifties era of America. It brings people from all times and places into it, stripping them of their powers, and often anything that makes them them as well, while placing them into homes to act as false families.
It's also famous for pulling cruel tricks on the residents who have consciousness, like yourself or me.

[This whole thing sounded like a big nightmare, or a joke, that Sin could barely process the magnitude of it. This guy couldn't be serious, could he? Powers gone, stuck in some backwater part of the Old World, where no one else he knew was around.]
[He tenses up, wishing he could just go off somewhere and beat some crap up, let loose his frustration, but he can already feel the uselessness of even trying to cast magic right now- not to mention the fact that these wounds were still nagging at him when they should have been nothing, and his eye being normal.......]
...This sucks. [It's all he can boil things down to, right now.]

...Iunno. You don't happen to know a guy named Sol, do you? Sol Badguy?
--[It was just as much of a stretch, and he had no desire to bring that guy up- much less to see him- but he was better known and, at least, would probably be a more helpful connection, if anything]-- or ..Ky, maybe?
