A leather computer chair was a bad choice.  Thank you summer for making me realize this.

Arguing with other people in my religions class is fun.  We're debating whether or not it is ethical to build a mosque near the ground zero of the 9/11 attacks.  My opposite is arguing that people are still sensitive about it.  I am arguing that the people ( Read more... )

Leather chair? Nice and sticky.

Ill never get another car in California with leather seats! Why I swear I burned my legs on the damn things daily in the summer.

As for your religion class discussion I personally think we as Americans whould have less of an problem with anything being built 2 blocks away, if they built some memoral at ground 0 instead of the hole we have now! I feel that the wait has been a big middle finger to everyone who died and their families. I mean come on the field where the 3 plane went down has some memoral put up by the family of the properity and the town.

It disgusts me that most of the class commented as well and said that it is disrespectful for those people to build a mosque near there. Are we really that racist due to a terrorist attack? All this is doing is outlining stupid differences and making everyone hate each other. It's not right from my point of view.

I really think its hard for people to see the diferance between the religion and people who take there religion to terrorist extremes.

I beleive this is manly because people dont take time to learn about others. We learn crap in school, many dont learn in there free time, and most get there news from snipets and little bits here and there then anything else.

I think a lot of it is the fact that they don't CARE. Like, at all. My sister know just about nothing about other races. And she doesn't care to learn. Hell, I just went with treat everyone equally and use a lot of hand motions when someone doesn't speak english well before my stupid cultural diversity class. Not that I've changed much. I still do the same thing I just hate them more because minorities are supposed to be treated specially according to what we learn in college courses.

Religion is an especially tetchy subject with most. There isn't a middle ground because their religions say that there CANNOT be a middle ground. "Love thy neighbor" but only if they go to the same church as you do.

Thats true. I know we are not going to have a big peace party, but I am all for leave it alone unless they are causing damage to another.

Also I saw another post (i think) about street smart vs book smart.

Street smart = learning from real life, or just plan common since. Unless you one of my mothers students (she works in a youth prision) then it means how you live in a gangester life.

Book smart = just smart schooling etc.

You did see it in a different post.

If my sister is street smart what it means to her is just doing the same stupid shit over and over again and ignoring everything anyone else tries to teach her.
