Vampire Diaries Fever...

It's a new disease. I've been sick with it for the last couple of months (actually, since end-May). The only cure is a sustained regime of fanfic reading, fan art, spoilers and articles/interviews about the subject. It helps with the worst of the withdrawal symptoms, but it's not a cure. No. The only cure will be available on September 9, when the CW starts showing Season 2.

Meanwhile, I have to survive.

I found out I'm not the only with this disease. There's a whole bunch of people just like me who have it, and who have the particular strain I'm carrying: the Delena-itis. That's when you ship Damon and Elena. It's a renegade strain, not the mainstream one. So it's even more persistent because there is a high level of hope and anticipation that something, anything really, might happen one day between these two characters who are currently not together on the show.

So anyway, I just wanted to say that, after weeks of acute suffering, the end of our plight is in sight, my fellow TVD-Delena sufferers. In less than a month, we will be able to finally get the cure-it-all we've been waiting for. Of course in the meantime, we have to endure the merciless teasing from the CW, which is trying to entice even more viewers to give a chance to the show, but is really only torturing us already-conquered/infected poor souls.

So let's try to enjoy these last few weeks of waiting. I want to thank all the fanfic writers that have made it bearable to go through the summer. Same for all the fanartists, particularly Fantaz_ing, whose fabulous art provided me with the icon I had been looking for for months.

Love to all. The day of our relief is in sight... :-)
