It is such a pleasant surprise to be greeted this morning by LJ updates from dear old friends, considering how stale my own account been for the past year or so. To you, Bleu, I apologize for the cobwebs and rusty entries--I agree Monloy, I love the steady stream of fresh entries from everyone and I hope to read more for twenty-eleven.
By the way, IT IS 2011! Sheesh, where did the time fly off to? Feels like it simply zoomed right on by without much notice.
I've never really been the hopeful "New Year resolution"-making type of person, not since grade school where I used to pencil in the little things like making my bed each morning, avoiding cuss words or avoiding too much candy (that's a fake resolution, my memory is just blurry right now).
So instead, I'd like to look back at 2010 and jot down some key points:
1. Change is inevitable. (read: Stop harking about how much you miss university life and focus instead on how you can constantly polish yourself each day, learning from a new set of people and an entirely different environment--no matter how COLD THE AIRCON IS IN THE OFFICE)
2. Trust your instincts. (read: No need to overthink things. You have brains in your head, feet in your shoes and only you can decide which direction to choose. --Mr. Seuss, who is not as dumb as his picture books may seem)
3. SMILING IS FREE THERAPY. (read: Cheer yourself up with the littlest things each day, whether it's buying your favorite sandwich, drowning in good coffee or buying a shiny new trinket on your way home.
But with ZERO COST, dont forget to smile at people---not random strangers on the street, not that old man smoking by the corner who may just follow you around should you smile too warmly, just people you know from work.)
ONE, TWO, THREE things at the top of my head in an attempt to encapsulate the past 365 (and 11) days. Apologies for the stiffness in my first entry for 2011. It's been TOO LONG since I've reunited with dear old Bleu.
I wish you all have a SMASHING 2011:)(figuratively speaking--unless you like to break things).
