Right now

It's another bright Sunday. There is an intricate pattern of sunlight woven on the bed sheets and the sky is a clear blue. Summer is knocking on the door, waiting to dish out what ever new things I've learned (or didn't) out the window as the second semester is recklessly racing towards the finish line as I (and all my batch mates of course) am panting for breath.

Calling this semester hectic is a mild way of putting it.

It's almost, almost over. But I'm not sure if I'm happy about it because the beginning of the summer break also signifies the end of some "partnerships" things and a routine that provided some sort of familiarity in the ever evolving scene of the university.
I leave it open for interpretation.

If we all get an extra boost, it means that college is almost finished. Suddenly, my friends are scrambling over applications and companies. The dreaded "internship" looms in the background and for people like me who have busied themselves over so many other things over the semester (and carelessly forgot about OJT), it's a little twist in the stomach that refuses to go away.

And to finally come clean about the UPSE Student Council position for Secretary and why I refused to file for candidacy, let's just say I was tired. High school zoomed past with Glee club practices (and singing at mass in St. James for confirmation/First Communion, noon time mass at Woodrose, etc), Debate training in ADMU or in the Ateneo high school classrooms (when they were free of course), Debate tournaments, Debate matter loading, Council meetings (but student council in high school was so much lighter compared to university student councils, I now realize), Habitat for humanity, Rurals meetings (to plan for the summer immersion in Bicol where we teach kids), etc etc etc.

So I think I made the right choice. Besides, I absolutely loved loved loved the Media and Publicity councilor stunt I pulled off in Econ. Loved the lantern parade, most especially.:) So i think this is the right choice...

Is it? Why then do my friends keep bugging me to run alongside them for the next year? :(
