stand still
motionless
let this box
record the light
illuminating the curves
of this moment
i must seal these minutes
in a time capsule
and let it rest under
the pillow-sheets of a childhood
cut short
by the hands of
the middle-aged bullies
and 4th grade whores
of our over privileged
village
these sidewalks glisten
with 14 karat chalk outlines
reminding us
the ease to which
innocence can be stolen
despite our safety nets
and
emergency lines
these security wires
are severed and split
flirting with river
in each of our backyards
someone call a town meeting
we are in a state of emergency
someone call a town meeting
we are in a state of emergency
