While Isabel did her own packing upstairs, Wyatt was finishing packing in his own room. He'd already orbed a lot of stuff home, leaving the important stuff to be taken along on the road trip. He was stalling, just a bit, distracting himself by checking his email and looking up places online they might visit on their trip.

"Hey, dude," Chris said.

"Hey," Wyatt said. This part was going to suck the most. He and Chris had never been far apart for long before.

"This sucks," Chris said. "We've never lived in separate buildings, let alone separate time zones."

"Dude, we can orb," Wyatt pointed out. Though that wasn't quite the same.

"Well, yeah... but..." Chris shrugged. "I dunno. It's not exactly the same."

"It's only a year," Wyatt said. "Then you'll come back to California to go to college, right?"

Chris nodded. "Oh, definitely."

[blessed_twice]

"I'll be here for homecoming and graduation, and then there's holidays," Wyatt said. "And you can come out to visit me at school and I can show you how fun college life is going to be."
