It's another busy weekend, having picked up my middlest daughter from Ohio and brought her home for the week to get ready to move to Florida for a couple of years. There was some stress and angst regarding the logistics, but decisions have been made, so it's going better now.
I've begun a new project -- or actually, made another and more auspicious start -- on relearning French. On Facebook, one friend was looking for help in learning a language, and another pointed us to
Duolingo, a free site (and phone app too) that has quite a few languages to offer. I gave it a good try today, and found it felt more like doing puzzles than work. After I've got a good handle on the French, I was thinking I'd try Spanish too, in case I do end up moving to the Southwest.
I have a little tree in my yard called Franklinia alatamaha, or Ben Franklin tree. It gets white flowers on it at this time of year. Well, the bees love it, and this year it is just full of lovely bumblebees. I am very happy to see them, because it seemed like there had been fewer and fewer the last several years.
