In which I begin two projects

I started a couple of things over the weekend.  I decided I would watch the HBO series Game of Thrones; up till yesterday I had only been reading the books.  I figured that took enough time.   But I enjoyed them so much, and with the series diverging from and getting ahead of the books, I felt like I'd be missing something if I didn't do both.  Apparently they are becoming sort of alternate universes where kind of the same things happen but with differences.  Anyway, a friend has most of it on DVDs I could borrow.  Last night I saw season 1, episodes 1 & 2.   It was fun.

The other thing I started was beginning to clean out the house with a view to eventually selling it and moving to a warmer climate -- ten or twelve years down the road.  But we've been here since 1983 and raised three children here, so there is quite a lot of stuff to sort through.  Also, my husband would totally be a hoarder if I let him.

Anyway, with the "deadline" so far away, I'm taking my time sorting through everything.  Yesterday I came across four 11"x17" posters from my eldest's final handbell concert two years ago at her first university, and they're good quality and a cute design, so I went online to order a framing package to put one in.  The posters are mainly black, white, and pink (there's a flamingo, their mascot).  I ordered a black mat with a white core and a v-cut around the opening to give it an extra white stripe - that's the white core showing through - and a black metal frame.  I'm sure she'll like it.  And when it's done, it goes into her room with the rest of her things until she comes to pick it all up.

I almost was going to start riding the exercise bike in the basement, too...but then my husband pointed out the grass needed cut, so that would be good exercise, right?

But that's okay, I got a dinner out, out of it. ;)
