Easy Ass School Day, Then Easy Ass Game

Sep 07, 2004 20:06

Aight so today went really well. First off, I'd like to brag at the fact I only had 2, yes TWO, classes today. First was Chemistry, which kinda sucked cuz i had to sit with my non-cool lab partners but they're smart so whatever, but that flew by quickly. Then we had a service, like volunteer shit, prayer service. That was boring, but only lasted like 45 minutes. Then I had about 5 hours off, till my final class of the day, Anthropology. Seeing that I'm one of three juniors in the class, that was easy. I don't have to talk much and the people in my class are funny. Then at 2:45 I was done school, to prepare for the soccer game vs. Maret.

The game started at 4 and it was evident we were the better team. In the first have we controlled possession, and quickly put the game out've reach. In about the 20th minute, I stole the ball from a terrible central midfielder from Maret, gave Stefano a thru ball, and he finished off a 1 v. 1 with the keeper. During the 35th minute or so, it was Stefano who beat a few defenders and slotted a ball to the back post, where Tim Dorsey came in and finished the low tap in. Once it was halftime, it was clear Maret didn't belong the same field with us.

The second half wasn't all that better for Maret. Meanwhile, St. Anselm's proved why this is probably our best team in the past few years. Again, we controlled possession and capitalized on a few early chances. In the 50th minute, Stefano recieved a ball and slotted it thru the defense, where I came onto the ball and had a 1 v. 1 with the goalie. Luckily, without a doubt I wasn't trying to do this, I knocked the ball between the goalies legs and sent the score to 3-0. In the 70th minute, Stefano, still not satisfied, put another goal home, sending the home crowd of about 50 crazy.

Other notable performers were... Scott, who was a constant threat on the attack, Isidore, whose smooth moves drew "oohs" and "ahhs" from the crowd, Ben Marsh, who stepped up and put away any doubts that he was capable of playing central mid, and definitely our goalkeepers Peter Kezler and Dan Quasney, who had a combined shutout. The guys I missed out, sorry, but this was definitely a team effort today.

Thanks to the fans who came out to the game.
Next Game is Friday, I don't know what time though or where, or vs. who... check back with me later.
