Rem was happily cleaning up after a nice dinner. Nothing better to finish off an evening than a good meal. Knowing she didn't have anything to worry about either was a bonus to boost her mood. Things were actually seeming kind of calm.
That is, until things began shifting. It was subtle at first, and she didn't take mind to it. But when the plate in her hand seemed to become part of a ship's control panel casing, Rem started to worry.
"Oh, God, not again," she mumbled to herself, looking around as she found herself standing in the control room of a SEEDS mothership, red alerts sounding and lights flashing. The automatic pilot signal was set for the ships to crash. Well she just couldn't have that. But something was off. Rem could feel it; she remembered all of this, as well as everything after, from the City for the last eight months. What was going on. Quickly reworking the information of the ship's propulsion systems to minimize the damage, she suddenly felt the shifting again. No no no no, she had to finish first. She had to do what she could. She could hear something go off in the not too far distance, smoke starting to fill the bridge as the final shifts were made, leaving her only to close her eyes.
Bright daylight greeted her when she opened her eyes. She came rolling onto the ground, space suit and all, not quite noticing the shocked faces of those standing close by. It was very quick to come to her attention that she needed to roll. Stop, drop, and roll. The smoke and heat around her was unbelievably painful, bringing back unwanted memories.
But now wasn't the time for that. She heard a monorail coming in as she tried to put the flames out.
