dood, where's my update?
ok, so I lost track of my mad updating skillz. i must have traded them in for mad gin & tonic skillz.
and so begins my latest update
went to the cottage with the family last week. we don't own a cottage, we just rent... the last few years we've had to try new places, as our beloved mainstay cottage was sold to people who weren't interested in renting it out. meh.
this year's cottage was pretty nice, right on the water. played in the sun (that's right folks, i gave up my gothtasticness a while back and started playing in the sun). drank many a G&T. relaxed. "swam" (more like went into the water and floated for a while on noodles)
canoed into Algonquin park (yay!) where we saw a waterfall (yay!) but no moose (boooooo!). tried waterskiing for the first time and failed. tried a kneeboard instead, which worked much better for me.
did i mention that i drank many a G&T? Oh, actually, I drank G&T&SV (SV being Strawberry Vodka. I usually just drink G&T, but Ms. Princess Unicorn Parkin got me into the strawberry vodka)
would anyone like to send me one now?

tuesday night there was a HUUGE storm. i guess it took the power out in a number of cities. it toppled some ginormous trees at the cottage next door. what freaked me out is that i never HEARD the trees fall. they were RIGHT NEXT DOOR and I didn't hear them fall. jeebus. oh, and we saw green lightning, which freaked me out too (is it the aliens?)
