Nipping like a little nippy nipperson
So.... I just watched the season finale of Nip/Tuck.
This is one of those shows that intrigues me and loses me all in one fell swoop. When one story line is interesting &, dare I say, 'edgy' -- another will be total crap, obviously created merely for shock value.
This season was much worse for garbage schlock stories. Many more dumb sex scenes, many more scenes of Julian MacMahon's ass.
The last two episodes of the season reminded me why I started watching in the first place. Granted, the one I watched earlier this week seemed to be a blatant gimme -- involving one of their sexaholic characters contracting HIV. Trying a little too hard to finally push a positive message, instead of the usual glorifying casual sex??
The final episode finally creates a bit of a back story for one of the characters they introduced this season that I thought was gross. Had they slowly built the backstory in, she would have been a much more fulfilling character... but instead, they relied on garbage character writing until the very last episode in which she is to appear.
I mean, you ARE supposed to feel something for characters in a story, right? Even the ones you don't particularly like?
