Today was non-stop. Two weeks from Thursday the games begin and we're not ready. The big thing on my mind right now is softball... we don't have an event coordinator or officials. We had no teams as of last Friday and today we have two or three. I'm honestly hoping we don't have enough so the event is cancelled. This will be a topic for tomorrow. Overall, registration is low which means either we have a very busy week inputting or we aren't going to hit 1,000. Even if the numbers are down, the entertainment is better this year and we are a lot more organized and THAT'S what counts.
My sister was burglarized today. She got a phone call at work from the Sheriff's Department telling her someone broke into her home. One of her neighboors noticed a white Jeep in front of my sister's house and saw two guys at the front door. The neighboor then saw the guys walk around the back of the house so she grabbed her camcorder and recorded them getting into their car w/ stuff and leaving. Long story somewhat short, they found the car and the two guys, are getting a search warrant for their house and it looks like most of the stuff stolen will be recovered. Their X Box was taken and they just got it for Christmas from my parents. My dad's going to buy them a new one of theirs wasn't recovered. Talk about traumatic.
Heath Ledger died. I liked him. I'm sensing mental illness played a part. I'm seeing commercials about friends and mental illness and they make me feel odd. Mental illness has been taboo for years, and suffering from it now I feel almost handicap... needing commercials to help me keep friends? I'm sure it's a good education piece for people who don't know what to do, or are scared of their friends suffering from mental illness. But still... I find it odd.
