And I made a bunch of amazing food for Thanksgiving. Vegetable a la Grecque, Raspberry truffle tart, dilled green beans with lemon hummus, and corn with goat cheese, roasted red and yellow peppers, + lots of parsley.
Im going to drive to Columbus and my family is going to over look all of the food I made. My mom is going to poke my stomach and compare my 20-something weight to her menopausal post-hysterectomy weight, aka remind me that im “fat”.
My aunt and uncle are going to ask me where the “cute Italian architect” I brought last year is, and in front of my little cousins, I will have to remind them that he shoved me into a wall. Then of course my mom will say he is great at art and then tell me that I made a big deal out of nothing and that I should call him and tell him she wants to give him that bike he wanted.
Then I will have to tell them I am dating no one this fall for the first time in my life. Just great bc their lesbian assumptions will be confirmed.
Oh and then my uncle will say something racist. I will probably call him out and then dip out and drive to hyde park to join lauren’s family for wine and good conversation.
No really thanksgiving is usually great. But this year im driving separate.
And a woman yelled at me in the trader joes parking lot in front of her 8 year old daughter. my response included "fucking" and "SUV".
Really, I have been looking forward to today and it has been nothing but a let down.
