(no subject)
crap. i think that it's probably been at least a year and a half, maybe two, since I was last sick. man oh man. i'm making up for it now. i mean i'm not super sick, throwing up everywhere. i had laryngitis like 2 weeks ago and what feels like pneumonia now. couuuugh cough cough. but it's a really good diet. and all the coughing is a pretty good workout for my abs. gotta look for that silver lining..
i'm having lunch with martha today. martha has to be one of the best people i know. she's extremely motivated and goal oriented. she is above petty arguments and gossip. and smart. anyway. i really hope she is still planning on doing baja this yr--i kept thinking last night that she may want to have lunch to tell me she is going to back out. i mean i would understand if she did. there are plenty of good reasons.
last night i could not stop coughing. if i were my neighbors i would think about trying to evict me. finally around 1am i took some cough syrup to knock myself out. then i did my ME 383 til i was tired. i tried to put in Friends, Season 1 but my shitty $40 dvd player has, apparently, stopped working. i guess that's what i get for being cheap. so this morning when my alarm went off at 7am i kind of felt like sleeping more. but at about 7:40 i got up put on clothes and went to my dynamics. good ol' shariff, i beat him there. he had to be close to 10 minutes late.
i'm still hacking away. i gotta get rid of this mess.
ABET is here on campus, doing an evaluation of the College of Engineering to see if we still deserve accreditation. I met w/ the guy twice--all that involvement paying off--OR WASTing my time. sometimes it feels like it. but he was a nice guy and just wanted to know what our experience is like and why some of our friends leave engineering--why iS retention so poor? um, because this is tough. geez. it doesn't take a genius. anyway, apparently the people who didn't take an extra math class for the math minor (i did) or the second chemistry (i did NOT) are one math credit short of ABET accrediting their degree. sucks for them?..
