Dear Tiffany,
The Frances Perkins Program at Mount Holyoke College is posting this
letter on ISIS in advance of your official written notification of the
committee's decision on your application.
After careful consideration of the applications for Fall 2009, our
Admission Committee has made a decision to place your name on a
Waiting List for acceptance to The Frances Perkins Program. A
particularly strong number of applications coupled with limited spaces
have made competition for admission especially keen this year. The
Waiting List has been established for those students who are qualified
for Mount Holyoke but for whom there is no immediate space. Should
any of the applicants who have been offered acceptance to The Frances
Perkins Program decide not to matriculate at Mount Holyoke College, it
may be possible to offer acceptance to some of those students who have
been placed on the Waiting List.
So that we can maintain a current and viable waiting list of
interested applicants, I ask that you return the reply form to us no
later than April 15. Be assured that we will let you know as soon as
possible if we are able to offer you a place in the Frances Perkins
Program.
I very much regret the uncertainty that this news brings you, and I
also recognize that you may decide you must accept some alternative to
Mount Holyoke. Whatever your decision, let me emphasize the
Committee's recognition of your academic achievement thus far.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Dietel
Director, Frances Perkins Program
