ABOUT EVANESCENCE....
"We have no spiritual affiliation with this music. It's simply about life experience." The fact that Evanescence drummer Rocky Gray also plays with outspoken Christian metal bands Living Sacrifice and Soul Embraced doesn't help distinguish Evanescence from the Christian set; neither does a 2000 interview with the spiritual-leaning magazine Stranger Things, in which Moody said, "The message we as a band want to convey more than anything is simple -- God is love."Yet now, according to the EW article, Moody and Lee consider discussions of their faith in early interviews to be "youthful indiscretions."

OK, now i',m sorry, i really enjoyed this cd. Really. I jhave their old album also, which is mostly the same songs...my only question is this, controversy aside - why use the christian music industry, as messed up as it is anyway, as a stepping stone to a secular career? I just dont get it...and then once using it, toss it aside like it never happened. I begin to feel there is no possibility of being rich and famous and holding on to your morals and ideals firmly without fear of losing face in the sight of the world...a rich man entering heaven....yeah, i guess it makes sense now. anyway, dont get me wrong i dont think there is anything wrong with becoming popular - just dont try so hard to distance yourself from something you once claimed to believe. anyway, its all been said before. I wish evanescence luck, and i will continue to enjoy their music, i just hope they realize that everything they say will be under scrutiny as long as they are media darlings. Youthful indiscretions?? please.
