Why??

People who use hand cream seem to always use stuff with a particular scent that totally nauseates me. I had the good fortune to be sitting beside a man on the subway who keep adding more every 4-5 minutes.

What the hell is wrong with people?

i must only use unscented. scented is so vial no matter what they use but i hear ya, it's always something like rose petal dreams or jasmine escape and don't get me started on eucalyptus!

i'm a big fan of no-sent policies in the office! Health and Safety can force HR to push a policy through because of people's allergies, migraine triggers, etc.

no perfume (especially if i came from a drug store)
no aromatic meals eaten at ones desk
no strongly scented personal products
no stirrup pants (ok, i just through i would throw that one in there)

ours is working fairly well now that that one girl got canned. i could smell her perfume a mile away.

I support this policy when needed. For example, when a co-worker was going through chemo we all avoided everything scented because it made her nauseous. For everyday I don't mind a little scent...the kind you only get if you give someone a hug. If I can smell it by walking into someone's office, it's far too much.

I do wish they made better unscented moisturizers though. I don't really like smelling like Fresh Apple Pie in the winter.

i completely agree. i'm not averse to scent even thought i have a bionic nose. i enjoy smelling a light sent when i hug someone et al. it's like knowing a little secret.

conversely, i don't like da funk and some leather/bear/bdsm subscribe to

I have to concur here. I don't mind and sometimes enjoy the smell of a little new sweat...like from a guy who just came off of a court/field or from the gym. I am driven away from guys that smell like they are strangers to soap and deodorant, though. Can we mandate against that?

Strangely enough and along these lines, apparently some sci-fi/gaming conventions have done so, having campaigns to remind people to bathe regularly and even giving out small bars of soap. I find that hysterical. :)
