I had the great honour of being contacted by my alma mater, the
Atlantic School of Theology, asking if I would consider representing the school at the convocation of
Emmanuel College tomorrow afternoon in the academic procession.
I don't really get off on stuff like that, but it will be kind of cool to get dressed up in a moldy old black Geneva gown and put on my old hood (OK, so the school Fed Ex'd me a hood... I was too cheap to buy mine after graduation). PLUS, I'm guessing open bar and as many snacks as I can stuff in my back pack, so it should pay off nicely!
Plus, there will be all the delightful hob nobbing with crusty old farts:
"My God, the food at these things just gets consistently worse every year!"
"My God, the Harper government won't stop until we're all goose-stepping our way to class!"
"My God, when I going to find time to get this syllabus finished?!"
"My God, if I get another incompetent T.A., he had at least better know how to give good head!"
Just to see if they are paying attention... you know...
