Link to the Masterpost The smells of breakfast trickled into Dean’s nostril’s rousing him from his blissful sleep. Cas’s head was on his chest, and their legs were entwined. Dean carded a hand through his hair, and kissed his temple.
Cas murmured something unintelligible.
“Morning sexy.” Dean slapped his ass gently.
Cas chuckled into his chest, and lifted his head. His hair was sticking up at all angles, and he was smiling. He looked good; happy, after yesterday it was an amazing sight.
He sent a silent thank you to whomever was listening that he hadn’t managed to fuck this up yet.
“Good morning, Dean.”
Cas lifted his head higher, and sniffed the air; Dean heard his stomach rumble.
“Yeah, I’m starving to, how about we get dressed and go greet our public.”
Cas nodded, untangled their limbs, and sat up on the edge of the bed - stretching and yawning.
Dean watched his lean body arch, and smiled. He sat up, wrapping his arms around Cas from behind, and kissed a small mole on his shoulder blade.
Cas leaned back against him, his posture relaxed - trusting. He sighed contently, as Dean nuzzled his neck.
Dean mentally ordered himself to remember this if Cas ever flinched away from him again after a nightmare, or flashback. Cas trusted him - and he trusted Cas.
When Cas pulled away, it wasn’t ever him he was afraid of - it was of the man who had left a scar on his soul.
Dean held Cas tightly a few more moments, before letting go. Cas turned, his blue orbs warm, and kissed him softly.
The way he looked at Dean when he ended the kiss, the love, the joy, Dean could have sworn he was seeing into him. Cas touched his face; a vulnerability passing over it before he whispered, “love you.”
Dean swallowed, and took Cas’s hand, turning it over and kissing his palm. “Love you too,” he whispered back.
It was amazing how easily it fell from his lips now. Sap and all, he didn’t care.
The way Cas’s face lit up, and his eyes sparkled, it was worth a little mushiness.
“Now get your sexy ass out of bed, so we can go eat,” Dean quipped.
Cas patted his cheek once, then he did a flawless back-flip off the bed. He landed neatly on his feet, and winked.
“Show off, “ Dean teased, as he rolled out of bed. It was way to early for acrobatics.

“Morning.” Anna beamed at them, as she carried a plate to Bobby’s table.
“Morning, kid.” Dean ruffled her hair.
“Good morning, Anna.” Cas smiled at her, touching her shoulder as she sat down.
“Smells amazing.” Dean followed his nose to the buffet of food.
“Don’t look at me,” Bobby said, “Sam did all the cooking.”
“It looks wonderful Sam,” Cas praised.
Sam shrugged. “No problem.”
Dean grabbed two plates, and handed one to Cas, who smiled, and took it. His fingers resting on Dean’s briefly before he spooned out eggs, and a slice of toast which he delicately placed on his plate.
Dean grinned, and plopped down a lot of everything. Sausage, eggs, pancakes, in a messy pile.
Cas shook his head, and wrinkled his nose, but was still smiling.
All five of them sat down to a meal, it was a little crowded, but they made it work. Cas was in-between Anna and Dean, and he seemed content there.
This was nice, there was a comfortable silence as they ate.
“Mast-I mean Castiel,” Anna grinned, “Would you meditate with me before we leave?”
Cas’s face softened in that way that was only for Anna; Dean’s heart swelled.
“Of course. I think it would do us both good.”
She smiled, then dove back into her food.
Bobby and Sam were watching them fondly.
Bobby cleared his throat. “How’s Elle-Master Harvelle?” He asked, his voice too nonchalant.
Dean swallowed his massive bite, and felt Cas stiffen.
He knew they were both remembering Cas’s vision.
“As well as she can be considering. She’s one of the only Jedi who stood up for us.” Dean said calmly.
Bobby nodded, his eyes proud, and affectionate. “Doesn’t surprise me. She’s never been one to follow the crowd.”
“Damn right.” Dean agreed. “How long has it been since you’ve seen her?”
Bobby didn’t answer for a moment. Eventually he sighed, and murmured. “Too long.”
“I hear that.”

Dean was watching Anna and Cas meditate. Everything was packed, and ready to go for when their ride arrived.
Sam’s people were bringing the ship they’d travel in; they were due to arrive within the hour.
The two were sitting directly across from each other, their knees touching, eyes closed, and they hadn’t moved in almost thirty minutes.
Their hands were elevated slightly, and they were each levitating about a foot off the ground. As they concentrated, each one trusting the other not to let them fall.
It was a heartwarming sight.
And they were both damn good at it.
Cas had told him before they’d started, he had used this as a trust exercise early on in her training - and it had become something special between the two of them.
He could feel the force flowing through them, sending calming waves out through the room.
Dean was soaking it in.
Cas had needed this, and he hated to admit it, he just wasn’t ever going to be that good at meditation.
He was proud of the level he was at - and he knew Cas was as well - but this, he’d let this be something that belonged to Cas and Anna.
Dean turned when he heard Sam come into the room. “They’re here,” he mouthed.
Dean nodded, standing up off the couch. He gently nudged Cas through the force, not wanting to startle him.
Cas’s eyes opened, and he touched Anna’s leg.
He watched as they both slowly descended to the floor.
They both stretched, and appeared refreshed.
“Time to go?” he asked.
Dean nodded.
The duo stood in unison, and Cas inclined his head to her. “Thank you, Anna.”
She smiled, and hugged him.
Cas closed his eyes, and held her back.
Dean didn’t have to be psychic to know that Anna had suggested the meditation more for Cas’s benefit than her own. She’d been in the room when he’d been offered the blaster, and Dean was sure she’d probably felt his panic.
Dean sure as hell had.
She was an amazing kid.
“Anytime, Master.”
This time, she didn’t correct herself. Neither did Cas.

Dean boarded the vessel along with Cas, Bobby, Sam, and Anna. It was bare bones - and held only what someone would need. No comforts, or excesses.
A cockpit, compartments for supplies, and a rear section that had a few seats attached to the walls.
Good thing the trip wasn’t too long.
Sam introduced them to his friends -Adam and Gabriel.
Adam was young, probably no more than eighteen. He spun around in the co-pilot’s chair, his expression friendly. “Hi guys.”
Dean started to reply, but Adam’s gaze zeroed in on Anna, and Dean swore he saw drool.
He smiled a huge, goofy grin, that made him appear even younger, and offered her his hand first.
She returned his stare, sizing him up as if he were a new weapon, and she was trying to figure out how to dismantle him.
Dean almost laughed. Cas was watching the situation - his expression protective, and he stepped closer to Anna.
Anna eventually took his hand, apparently she’d decided not to squash him yet.
“If you need anything let me know.” He said, his gaze still on the pretty red head.
“Adam, you suck at subtle” Gabriel turned in his own chair - his smile was friendly, but there was something about him that made Dean think he was the kind of guy that would put a ’kick me’ sign on your back just because he was bored. He had brown hair, a face that looked natural smiling, and eyes that were alive with energy. “Why don‘t you just go for it and grab her ass like any respectable youth would.”
Adam’s face turned bright red, and he spun back around in his chair without another word.
“He can try,” Anna said with a dangerous smile on her lips, “but I can’t guarantee he’d get his arm back.”
Gabe burst out laughing. “Oh, I like you.”
Anna’s gaze softened; she took his hand.
“Wow, you’ve got a killer grip kid.” He let go, and waved his hand in an exaggerated motion.
He turned to Dean. “Look’s like I’ll have to give you the other one.” He offered Dean his “uninjured” hand. “Call me Gabe, it’s easier on the tongue.”
Dean rolled his eyes, but took it.
“Nice to meet you, Gabe.” Dean clasped his hand, and something shocked him. He let out a manly yelp, and yanked his hand back.
Gabe chortled, and waggled his fingers, showing Dean a small device attached to his palm.
“Gotcha.” He grinned.
Cas had stepped up, his saber was in his hand, and his posture screamed he was ready to fight.
Dean laughed. “It’s okay Cas - it seems we’ve got ourselves an honest to force prankster.”
“I prefer ‘trickster;’ has a better ring to it.” Gabe removed the device, and pocketed it.
Cas holstered his weapon, but his gaze was still suspicious.
Gabe offered his hand.
Cas eyed it.
“I promise, no more surprises,” he winked, “for now anyway.”
Cas took his hand. “Do you mind if I ask what brought you into this fight?”
It was a fair question, the guys personae didn’t exactly scream ‘freedom fighter.”
Gabe touched his chin, his expression turning serious. After a moment he held up one finger, in a ‘eureka’ gesture, and blurted, “Because the Republic is full of people, that I like to refer to as ‘great big bags of dicks. And the supreme Chancellor, is the King of the Dicks - and I’d love to see him fall on his pompous ass.”
Dean found himself laughing again.
Cas’s expression softened mildly.
“Can’t argue with that,” Dean agreed.

The rest of the introductions had been uneventful, and they were almost ready to leave.
Dean sat down next to Cas, and strapped himself in the seat.
Sam had told them, Gabe and Adam were the best pilots they had, if anyone could get them in and out without detection, it was them.
Dean had to trust Sam on that one - he’d only just met them.
His instincts weren’t screaming any warning bells, all he could do was hope Sam was right, or this was going to be a very quick mission.
“You ready, babe?” Dean nudged Cas’s foot.
Cas nodded, and smiled as he strapped himself in as well.
“Hold onto your butts,” Gabe announced, as they entered hyperspace.
Dean hoped they could finally expose Roman and prevent the future both he and Cas feared.
