Life sucks when your crush doesn’t care you exist, Draco thought morosely as he watched Harry Potter walk across the Great Hall, ignoring the Slytherins.
“It’s just so annoying. Like he doesn’t know me at all! Even when I used to be a complete prat to him, at least I got his attention.”
“Maybe you should do the opposite,” Blaise muttered.
Draco straightened in his chair. “You’re right! I’ll have to be more...”
“Romantic?” Blaise suggested.
“Exactly,” Draco said, grinning.
That night, Draco knew Harry would go out flying-- it wasn’t stalking, Draco just happened to be outside on Sunday nights-- and it would be the perfect time to enact his plan of wooing Potter.
“Potter!” Draco called out as Harry came closer.
Harry turned towards him in surprise. “Malfoy?”
“Oh, so you do remember me?” Draco replied, slightly bitter.
“Of course I do,” Harry chuckled. “What, are you back to your taunting ways?”
“No.” Draco bit his lip. “I was thinking, since we’re both not on the Quidditch team this year, we could perhaps play a Seeker’s match?”
Harry stared at him. “Are you being nice to me?”
“Is that so hard to believe?”
“Yes.”
Draco backpedaled. “Well, I can understand why you wouldn’t want to--”
“I want to,” Harry interrupted.
Draco blushed. “Okay. Should we have rules?”
“No rules.” Harry grinned. “All’s fair in love and war.”
Draco blinked. “Is this... love or war?”
“We’ll see.” Harry winked and Draco’s heart flipped. “Scared, Malfoy?”
“Oh, you wish, Potter.”
