Richard would walk in their office and make a beeline to Draco’s desk. He would ask his question even when Draco was in the middle of a conversation with Harry. Draco, being the reformed man that he is, answered the question then turned back to Harry. Harry didn’t think he would miss Draco’s arrogant ways.
Harry thought Richard’s questions would stop, but it didn’t. They continued week after week. Harry’s irritation grew week after week and the feeling in his chest grew. He didn’t like the way Richard pushed his bangs in his eyes every time he asked Draco a question. Richard monopolized Draco’s time, sometimes keeping Draco out of the office for ten minutes. Then the way Richard looked at Draco with a longing gaze made Harry frown. He didn’t like that at all.
Harry’s frown stayed on his face one day Richard turned on the charm.
“Are you sure this is the spell I use?” Richard asked in a sweet voice.
Draco nodded. “Yes, it’s the right one. It will take care of the criminal quickly.”
Richard smiled. “Okay, thank you Auror Malfoy.”
Draco returned it. “You’re welcome, Auror Anderson.”
Richard walked out the room with a light hum. Harry waited until Richard left to mutter under his breath. “Thank you, Auror Malfoy. That spell isn’t that hard to remember.”
Draco chuckled. “Is something wrong?”
“No, why do you think so?” Harry mumbled putting another file away.
“Because it looked like you were going to hex Anderson to another department.” Draco smirked.
“Oh I’m surprised you noticed, since it looked like you were going to swim in Anderson’s eyes.” Harry grumbled.
Draco smirked. “Are you jealous?”
Harry blushed looking away from Draco. “No,”
“Well, then I guess you won’t mind if I take up Anderson’s offer for an afterhours practice.” Draco said.
“If you’re going to stay after hours it should be with me, finishing this paperwork.” Harry grumbled. He stopped shuffling papers when he realized what he said. His flush deepened as he looked over at Draco.
Draco’s smirk widened. He stood up from his chair going over to Harry’s desk. “Oh, is that so?” He leaned forward his lips inches from Harry’s. “Are you sure you’re not jealous?”
Harry swallowed, resisting the distraction of Draco’s irritating smirk. “Yeah, I’m sure.”
“Fine, I’ll go and ask Anderson if he woul-umpf!” Draco mumbled as Harry closed the gap between them with a kiss. He wrapped his arms around Draco’s waist, pulling him in his lap.
Draco hummed in approval, sliding his fingers in Harry’s hair. The irritation Harry felt for weeks melted between Draco’s lips. He didn’t imagine Draco would taste so good.
When Harry relaxed, he broke the kiss. He enjoyed the flush look on Draco’s face and made a note to do it again soon.
“Do you want to stay late and work on paperwork?” Harry asked.
“Only if you promise to buy me dinner first,” Draco said.
Harry chuckled. “So demanding,”
Draco smirked. “Did you expect any different?”
“Not at all,” Harry leaned forward capturing
Draco’s lips in another kiss. Maybe having Anderson around the office wouldn’t be too bad.
