Well, its been forever since I have posted anything in here, so I suppose its time for an update of sorts. For the most part I've been doing good. Jon and I have been blissfully content with each other though some days I still wonder why in the world he puts up with me.
I've begun writing on my novel, yes I finally picked one topic and am sticking to it. Gah. Its going alright though sometimes I seriously want to scream at my computer. I've not yet set a date for it to be finished, but hope that it won't take too long. While I doubt that I'll find a publisher, I am just content to finally be writing it. Sadly I am not gonna post it on here until I have a finished product.
I've developed a reoccuring case of writer's block that I now break with RP. Ah the wonderful sin of role play. I stepped away from it for a long time, and I think that I needed the break. Its not that I dislike the play...only that sometimes it can be too demanding. On top of that I get a lot of OOC bitching coming my way that just drives me up the wall. While I do care about the people that I game with, I've gotten to that point where I am here for the play not for the "She said, he said" stuff.
ANYWAY. Where do I game these days? In a wonderful place called "Bedford". Its awesome because of the high activity that is going on (and that continues each month ) so I don't get bored with it. I'm gonna post the application before just in case any of you want to come join me. Just be prepared for as much room play as you can handle lol. They also have a message board that is getting nailed with posts all the time. The basis of a group is trust. Does one member within a storyline or guild always trust another within said house? No. Not always. And such is the way of life within Bedford. The occupants and other such members are brought together through a sort of .... Comradery, sharing their experiences and giving their expertise in a certain area to the others around them. Is this a friendship, then? Of a sort, I suppose. As players, we interact frequently. As far as characters go .... Well ... That can be another story entirely. As players, we demand a sort of respect from each other, yet our characters are their own entity, so to speak. What we as players decide we want to happen, does not always come to work out as we had planned, and we accept that. The Bedford Academy and it's players acknowledge that role-play is just that. We are here for the fun of the game and that, really, is all that matters.

Let us start this off with two simple statements. First : Bedford is a modern-supernatural storyline! This means, it is our world. The real world ... Inhabited by creatures of supernatural origins. This means werewolves, vampires, demons, witches and what have you are all accepted, as well as humans.
Second : Bedford is a non-dice role-play organization. We work on a point and ranking system. If individual members enjoy the use of dice, that is, of course, their choice. Bedford, as a whole, however, does not dirty ourselves with such things.
The Bedford Academy is a private school designed to cater to supernaturals. Located in the (fictional) town of Bedford, not far from Minneapolis and St. Paul, there are classes for centuries-old vampires that are still unused to the modern world, focused on informing them of modern-day customs and fashions, what is and is not 'cool', et cetera. There are classes and training sessions for the newly dead, or the newly infected were-animals. There are the normal, every-day "high school" classes for the teenagers that find themselves not quite able to mix with normal girls and boys. Sports, clubs, student council ... There are dormitories for students that come from far away and reside on campus during each term. Further student housing is available for those aged 18 and older, in the form of various dormitories and apartments.
The Bedford Academy prides itself on the education both it's teenage students and far older students receive. Of the six buildings, three are fashioned as a university and an 'adult education' center, offering majors and minors in such subjects as bio-chemistry, secondary education, theater arts, as well as many other science, math, and arts-related areas, as well as studies in the supernatural. While Bedford K-12 students are offered a discounted tuition price to continue on to the Bedford University, they are not guaranteed a spot. Many students choose to take semester at the university, to further accustom themselves to living in a human world, before moving on to other universities, such as the University of Minnesota, Saint Paul College, as well as higher education outside of the state.
As with many schools, be they private or public, there is, of course, an 'underworld' to Bedford. Secret groups, cults, and religious sects are common, as well as the more legal sorts; bands, art groups, et cetera. All academy-funded clubs are divided into two groups; the 'high school' version, and the 'university' version. Each is headed by one senior student, and one faculty member to oversee activities. Located approximately one mile from the Academy is the City of Bedford. It is not an obscenely large city, however it is large enough to house several apartment complexes, restraunts, shops, bars, two or three night clubs, et cetera. As with any other major or minor city in the world, there is an 'underworld' in Bedford. Though it is not widely known outside of certain circles, Bedford is a preternatural hotspot. This means that supernatural happenings are not entirely uncommon, nor is it abnormal to walk down any given street and pass by creatures not entirely human. A citizen may or may not be aware of other citizens humanity level; characters will learn, or be kept in ignorance, of the supernatural breeds in the city through play.
To potential members: We are here to have fun. Please keep this in mind.
We are not here to malign and attack the other players. Any instances of "mun bashing", or blatant stupidity that reaches the ears of the High Command will result in automatic expulsion. We do not play favourites, nor do we tolerate harmful actions toward our members. We would like you to work out any problems with another mun yourselves, however we are aware that sometimes this is not possible. If you feel that an intermediary is needed to resolve any problems, you are welcome to request our assistance.
Please remember: Submission of this application is an agreement, though unspoken, to follow the guidelines and requirements. While we do not ask for much in regards to weekly activity, we do require that you meet our minimums, at the least.
