(Co)incidental music

So, the SSHG exchange piece is currently flowing nicely, to the point where it's starting to dominate my thoughts to the detriment of housework / real work / feeding the children etc. But I still haven't got a title, which is bothering me, so I reverted to my standby of trawling though my music collection. And this is where the bizarre coincidence happened. I came across one song and thought "Oooh, that might sort of work, but I'm not sure, but I'll listen to it anyway 'cos it's a great song and I haven't listened to it in about ten years."  At which point I discovered that a line of dialogue I've written is basically one of the lyrics from that song. It's less odd that I've dredged the sentiment up from my subconscious than that I chose that song in particular to listen to from my not inconsiderable musical library, without being aware that I knew any of the lyrics at all. Still haven't got a title, though! On consideration, given my writing history, a song might be a bit of a giveaway. Especially now!

In other news, during my music trawl my older son (8) has discovered that he likes The Cure (happy, bouncy Lovecats stuff rather than the gloomy end of their repertoire). He's a long-time Jam fan already. Never let it be said I'm not educating my children....

ramblings, sshg exchange
