Philly show update...brought to you by Melissa
Jen and I went and saw Tsunami Bomb last night in Philly.
and it was awesome.
Along with them was Orange Island, Pipedown, and The Lawrence Arms. All very cool bands, saw the lawrence arms once before at the TLA with Hot Water Music- the Best show ever to this day, followed by the Halloween show at Stone Pony.
The North Star Bar is an awesome little venue I must say... the place is like way small, but awesome because that means everyone can see the bands. there's a balcony and the pit is sunken in, kinda like Birch Hill but on a much smaller scale. Just the surroundings rocked, follwed by awesome bands. OOooo... or awesome bands in great surroundings....i watch too many interior design shows :\ i wish i brought my camera, but im always afraid i wont be able to bring it in, never been to north star bar before. oh did i mention its in the ghetto? yeah. so for all you girlies out there, better bring some of the boys along with ya's. Jen and I went with a guy she knew from work and some of his friends. was a good time i must say. we'll be hangin around that crowd a little more often.
It really sucks that Tsunami Bomb's new album hasn't come out yet, but it had something to do with their gay record company. so it comes out Sept. 21. which is like FOREVER away.
Phew! in other news, I start field hockey in T-minus 3 days, and am sooo excited, although I am nowhere near in the shape that I wanted to be in by the time the season rolled around :(
I just ran 3 miles in 26 minutes 25 seconds, last year I could run 3 miles in about 23 minutes, so you can definetly see the difference. I'll run tomorrow and then wednesday, hopefully getting either my mile down or try the 3 mile again. Thursday we have our field hockey dinner and such, Friday is our first day of practice. class starts the 30th. Holy Shit! 14 days til class as a sophmore in college begins. I'm so pumped. :D
I have my last day of work tomorrow til after field hockey. I might play poker in NE tomorrow night, depends on how persuasive chad and meg are when them come to visit me tomorrow! I need to buy waters and stuff from sam's for hockey, and i could use some more shorts and t-shirts and the like. hopefully mom will be up for shopping wednesday.
