Not dead! I swear.

I have a histology final tomorrow and I'm straddling that line between "I should study a few more minutes" and "I should go to bed." I'll compromise by folding my laundry and brushing my teeth before I decide.

I realized I haven't said much of anything on this journal for months. My life is very different lately. I work harder than I ever have before, it seems, and I need to work harder still. I learn things ranging from how to tell if a cow is thin or overweight, to the pathogenesis of tularemia, to what concentration of espresso to water to milk will keep me awake through four straight hours of lecture without keeping me up at night. I have a neighbor who walks home from the bus with me sometimes, and I realized he must think I'm a terribly unhappy person since I'm usually complaining about whatever test I have that week (yes, every week). I'm really not.

It's my birthday, by the way - according to Blink 182, "Nobody likes you when you're twenty-three." I've spent most of it studying for the final I mentioned, a little doing laundry, and a little more making a pretty decent tofu/cauliflower/anaheim pepper stirfry.

Instead, I celebrated last night with Leah, Ashley (my friend from vet school), and Ashley's fiancee, Michael. We went to Ru San's, where I had veggie gyoza (kind of mushy), tuna maki, and eggplant maki. Oishikatta (It was tasty)! The sake was less tasty, but I drank it like a man. After that, Leah and I caught up on this season of Venture Brothers.

My goals for the week are A) pass histology B) get some groceries and C) try to find the new Jak and Daxter game.
