[After painstakingly copying the map given to him by the Soutaichou, Ashido was out and about in the unclaimed territory between New Seireitei, Nueva Las Noches and the Neutral Zone. Judging the angle and distance from the congregated reiatsu in the three main areas allowed him to estimate his location, and he was using this to ensure that landmarks and anything of strategic advantage and/or disadvantage was marked down accurately on the copy. Wherever he sensed traces of reiatsu from the pack of strange Hollows he’d been observing is marked, too, in the hope that he can eventually map out their main territory and hunting grounds.
He’d not allowed himself to rest at all since his fight with Ichimaru, and so wasn’t in the best of shape even before he’d begun. And the almost constant Shunpo he’s using to move around - no time to waste, the Captain’s meeting was a matter of days away, after all - is clearly wearing him down. So far though, he’s managed to avoid Hollows and concentrate on the task at hand. Once he was sure he’d noted down everything important, he would return to Seireitei and copy everything onto the original map. Ashido was nothing if not thorough.
Stopping briefly to mark down the position of a small cluster of buildings that appeared to have been abandoned since the Nexus was divided by war, he takes a minute or two to catch his breath. Too many orders. Make a map; help organise the meeting; guard the border; train for Shikai. His self-inflicted “duty” to clear out the Hollows in unclaimed territory. The people he was looking after. It was all starting to pile up.
