Oya... Well, this is quite a sight.

[Is a good distance away because he knows he's probably gonna get a bad reaction.]

[Yep, and you'd be right. Because you're about to get a reiatsu-filled glare.]

Gin! Are you such a fool that you would challenge me personally?

Not challengin' nothin'. [Spins around, showing off his haori.] Take a look-see... 'm not on their side.

I even was told ta defect ta prove my loyalty ta ya once. I hated it, an' came back here. Please, Soutaichou-han, don't make me do it again.

[Well, he's not going to incinerate you on sight...yet.] Explain yourself.

This place brings people from different universes... timelines...

I was pleasantly skippin' work in 3rd Squad when I was suddenly whisked away ta this place... Never even met them ryoka 'til I ended up here.

I've already had the story spoiled fo' myself. I don't feel like followin' Aizen-taicho.

I feel like stayin' here. Lookin' after my maybe-bride-ta-be, an' protectin' Seireitei.

[Hmmm...subtlety was never really Gin's gambit. So for now, he'll hesitantly trust you.]

So be it. Act with loyalty, and you will be treated accordingly. Act with treason, and you will be dealt with swiftly and without mercy.

Okay. Works fo' me.

[Points at him, waggling his index finger.]

Buuut~ Don't find roundabout ways ta get me in trouble! I don't like it when people think I'm the enemy.

Report on the status of Third.

How many members, and what is their condition?

Hmmm... There's me, another Gin, and... several Kiras. I've lost track how many, but probably over ten.

We're... recoverin'. For my defection mission given by the last Soutaichou, he didn't let me warn the rest o'my squad... so they thought they'd been betrayed again. [Shakes his head.] We're patching up our relationship, so ta speak.

[frowning ever so slightly] Hmm.

I'm told that no maps exist of this area. Is that correct?

Pretty sure. It'd probably take too long ta make one... Seems objects appear if ya wish fo' them.

[He's wishing for a map...huh, what do you know? A map. He unrolls it and looks at it.

It shows Seireitei and Neuva Los Noches. Between them, there's a pocket of territory labeled 'Neutral Zone,' although it doesn't run the whole length of the border. There's also a no-man's-land running the rest of the border marked 'unclaimed territory'.]

Tell me about the Neutral Zone.

... [Has a feeling the Soutaichou will get really lazy at this rate. He shakes his head a bit and nods at the request.]

Neutral Zone is an area fo' those who don't want ta choose a side, also fo' those who want ta live without havin' ta fight their friends... or loved ones.

It seems befo' this war started, arrancar an' shinigami lived in some peace... but the war's torn 'em apart. People who don't wanna be torn apart go ta the neutral zone...

But it's open fo' either side ta mingle with, too... I believe it's also open fo' attack, considerin' it's placement. I'm worried that Las Noches might be plannin' a strike 'gainst it.

Please give me your answer honestly.

Do you believe that it is possible to recall the shinigami of the Neutral Zone to the Gotei here effectively?

[Looks at him, then shakes his head.]

No.

I suspected as much.

You are correct that the Neutral Zone has great strategic significance. It may be prudent to open treaty negotiations with its leader, or leaders.

If we can arrange a treaty, that may be one part of our border we need not defend against invasion.
