Shipwright's Log

Written in a thick, but relatively new book, surrounded by several quick sketches, lists of measurements, supply costs, and obscure notes

It’s been a bit rushed and hectic, but I’m getting quickly settled in. I’ve already started making waves ang getting grumbles by moving some of the men around. I'm expecting they'll work a bit more smoothly this way. Time will tell.

There was an interesting and unexpected note waiting for me when I arrived here, and I soon found myself standing on the decks of an old friend. She's seen some rough times lately, poor old girl, but we'll get her back into her old glory in no time. I've already sent one of the more trustworthy fellows out to scour the supply stores for barrels of scarlet and gold paint, and we're starting to pull out the ruined planking now.

Despite a bit of sad nostalgia there, I'm finding myself back in my element - or at least partly so - and there's a spring in my step that I hadn't even realized had been absent. At least there was until I'd been on my feet for over fourteen hours. I'm not springing very much at the moment.

One thing I should have realized before I took the job on officially - there's paperwork. He never mentioned the paperwork! I'm a little concerned about it all, but I've been getting practiced at the filling out of forms, so I should weather it alright.
