2008 Chilifest
The annual Chilifest went well. The weather was beautiful so we spent the entire day outside. This year was the first year we had an 'official guest cook' - The Boyfriend (hlmt - you were the first unofficial guest cook, and the vegetarian chili went over swimmingly!) The Boyfriend used the peppers & tomatoes he'd picked from my yard in his chili. We're hoping for onions & garlic from the garden for his batch next year. Me, I just made a ton. I'm not sure how many gallons altogether, but there were fifteen pounds of beef. Fifteen pounds of beef for fifteen years. Okay, not on purpose, but it worked out that way. And all the food everyone else brought made it even better. Lots of hanging out, watching the kids, seeing people I hadn't seen in a while, it was a good time.
