Just got back from almost a week in Oklahoma to visit my mom. Between the airports and at her house, I managed to finish two washcloths and one of a pair of gloves. The gloves are my second go at using elasticized yarn. I'm still not 100% getting the right approach to maximize the elasticity of the finished product, but I think I'm leaning more towards the right way than not. Towards the end of the visit, I kinda burned out on crocheting, so I still have the second glove to do. I also figured out that I was a little over-generous with the measurments of the fingers. I might send the finished pair to my mom - I think they'll fit her a little better than they will me. Maybe I can find or make a little camel applique for the backs of the gloves. Measuring mistakes aside, the glove was definitely easier this time. Except that I totally wussed out on the whole "short row" issue with the thumbs. And I don't like the result as much as I do with my first, short-rowed, pair. Damnit. I'm gonna have to come back to that technique after all.

In other yarn-related news, I did some reorganizing of my stash, gave away a bunch of acrylic (and not all crappy acrylic, either!), and ripped out two projects. I'm trying to be serious about the Finish It or Frog It resolution (not to be mistaken for a New Year's Resolution, because I don't do those). Over the next 10-12 months, I intend to either finish or frog every started project in my stash. One way or another, I won't have 3 y/o projects in there anymore! A less serious, but doable, goal is to cut my stash down by one storage box. I think with a little more reorganization, I might actually be able to do it without giving away any yarn or finishing any projects. Though both of the latter methods are definitely helpful.
