Doing and Yet Relaxing

I feel like I should be *doing* constantly. I've still got most of a week (though it'll go quickly), but I still feel like I should be farther with packing. I just get tired of it, even of looking at it. So I've gone back to working on one of the blankets. I left the cotton one out, and the yarn for it is easily accessible. I've gotten several square feet done on it. It's simple enough too that it's somewhat relaxing while I still feel like I'm doing something Useful. I seem to be able to stop before my hands hurt too badly, so that's good. I did work on the latest Ugly Blanket too, until I'd used up all the balls I'd made for it (putting two and three yarns together). It would take too much at this point to make more - that'll have to wait till after the move. Now it's the cotton blanket. I'm just about ready to pull out a stitch book. The blanket is made up of simple, tight stitches, but I'm still trying to throw a few things in there to keep it from being completely boring. I mean, it would still look nice if I stuck to the same stitch all the way through. But making it that way drives me insane. It's mostly single stitch, but I've been trying to throw in some spikes, front posts, front loops, back loops & a few other things. Maybe this weekend when I have the camera for the house anyway I'll take a picture of it. I seem to be keeping the shape okay. That's been a major challenge for me with projects in the round. It's still got the hexagonal shape - it hasn't rounded off like I thought it would - but it hasn't pinwheeled. I'm glad I stuck with the tight stitches. I like the feel of it so far plus I think it'll be a more useful blanket this way. No toes getting caught in it in the middle of the night.
Maybe when I get done with signing today I'll work on it till the sweetie shows up tonight.
