This morning, I had my crochet at the staff meeting, as usual. One of the women with whom I get along with but we aren't great friends or anything, she asked me what I was making. It's one of the couple of things we talk about - we have a casual "mutual admiration society" for each others' work. I'd told her about the upcoming field trip and the concert on Wednesday, along with a couple of for-fun community college workshops I'm taking. She thought that was a fine idea, and told me about a couple of things she's been doing. And in a rather hushed voice like she doesn't want everyone knowing about it. Every once in a while a casual question about the crochet will lead to a moment like that.
Wednesday I went to one of the
Pink Martini "Fundfest" concerts. I'd heard the hype and finally decided to see them for myself.
Amelia opened for them (a lot like a cross between KD Lang and Norah Jones, with a big of Cajun thrown in). I decided I liked them both so much I bought a CD from each of them, and will probably watch for future gigs from both of them. Earlier tonight I finished the background of the Sample Garden to the Amelia CD. Tomorrow I'll probably start attaching all the sample bits to the background with
Hang On, Little Tomato playing.
