Amigurumi Elephant

Mar 12, 2006 08:45

I finished the elephant from Roxycraft's Amigurumi Patterns last night. The directions were very easy to follow. He came out a little smaller than I'd expected, but that's partly due to not reading the directions through closely enough. But the pattern itself was great - I'm happy to help pimp out Roxycraft. :)

My own work needs, er, work.

Need to:

-learn to finish ends better
-improve look for joining rounds
-improve sewing/placement skills (for extremeties onto the body)
-figure out how to sew eyes!
-tighten stitches to hold stuffing in better (especially after two years of learning to loosen up my stitches for other projects and to save my hands *le sigh*)

Just in working on this project I've:

-gotten a little better with joining rounds
-learned a better way to do decreases
-gotten a little better with sewing parts together (figured out how to make the ears curve a little on purpose!)
-not hated making several small parts that all need ends and all need to be sewn together

Pictures to follow as soon as I can borrow the camera.
