Cozy Little Cozies

Jan 20, 2006 05:53

I got the carrot cozy all finished except for the buttons. I made a last-minute run to Michael's and was surprised they didn't have any Easter buttons out yet. I got the chili pepper done up at Wicked Womyn, also excepting the buttons. I worked on the pickle as well, but somehow it came out more as an avocado. Not sure what's up with that except that apparently being able to increase rounds is a separate skill from decreasing them. Still, I thought the math came out right and I still have an avocado instead of a pickle. Ah well. As a friend suggested, maybe I'll just line it with light green fabric and go with the avocado. One heck of a pit, eh?

A lot of women commented on the crocheting, mostly just remarking as they went by, a few actually asking what I was making. So of course I had to show them. Lots of positive comments, three people asking what I charge for them. Cool! I have a few, er, kinks to work out first, but I can see making some of these for sale for the fundraiser. Possibly for trade, as one woman offered. So much depends on the shape & size of the insertable, though. I was constantly checking against the insertable when I was making the bags, as I didn't want a huge one-size-fits-all bag. I wanted it to be kinda snug and to really look like whatever fruit/veggie I was making. And I'm not sure I want to borrow someone else's insertable for making a bag to go with it. That's just... icky. I'll have to think on it.

I also saw a few women knitting between workshops. Socks and mittens, of course. Nothing even remotely kinky. But always nice to not be the only one. And I shamelessly hit them up for helping with the fundraiser. You never know - someone might say yes. :)

Yes, yes, pictures to follow. Right about when I'm in town long enough, home long enough, and awake enough to make it happen.
