Seed & Starts Trading

Oct 07, 2008 15:17

I've got a bunch of seeds leftover from the beginning of the season, and I'm working on saving seeds from things that worked well in the garden this year. I'm looking to rework parts of the garden next year. Some plants weren't quite as interesting to us, and there's plenty more we'd like to try. I'm looking for seeds, plant starts, and other materials.

I know this isn't a great time of year to trade starts. Just putting the vibes out there for spring. I'd also be willing to go share an order for spring with someone in return for trade

For trade: (all are seeds)

*Balloon flower/Chinese Bellflower
*Beets - Autumn Harvest blend of varieties from territorial seed Co.
*Dwarf Sunflower ("incredible") - 15-20 inches tall
*Sunflower ("mammoth grey stripe") - 6-12 feet tall
*Forget-me-not
*Onion (walla walla sweet)
*Purple beans (Phaseolus bulgaris) - just like green beans, only they turn from green to purple as they grow, and from purple back to green when you cook them (about 2 trades left)
*Radish - cherry belle. We grew these from bought seed this year and they were great. I have some each of the packaged seed from last year and the hand-saved seeds from the radishes that grew this year. They're in separate packages, so if it matters, I can send from just one of the sources.
*Salpiglossis ("painted tongue")
*Tomato ('early kus ali', 'blondkopfchen', 'clear pink early', 'green giant', 'brandywine') - all from WinterSown
*Tomato - cherry, Roma, and regular "large" - from plants I bought at Farmer's Market in spring, and I have no idea what varieties they are. I just know the Boyfriend said they were fantastic and worth saving
*Tulip (darwin hybrid) (prefer local trades so I don't have to deal with mailing bulbs)

ETA:
"Sensitive Plant" (Mimosa pudica) - the leaves will curl up at the slightest touch.

Looking for: (any varieties that will grow in USDA 8/Sunset 6/AHS 4)

artichoke
asparagus crowns
sweet bell pepper
blueberry bush start - dwarf/low bush
camas lilies
edamame
huckleberry bush start
mesclun
mustard greens/seeds
onion - yellow or red
peas
pumpkin - 4-8 lb cooking varieties
raspberry starts - red or golden
shallots
wild ginger (not the edible kind)

If you're in Portland, OR and are interested in trading, I'm also looking for:

--worms for vermicomposting
--mason bees &/or containers & tubes
--anything that will make a good raised bed or planter/container. This includes dresser drawers, plastic tubs, wood cabinets, large ceramic or terra cotta pots, and a lot more.
--iron work (decorative or not) for trellising and/or hanging baskets & feeders.
