Update to my life as a dog!!
Work. sucks. Besides being written up for inane things, there seems to be a certain fresh Hell each day. The writing is on the wall, (and was well before my best friends took me aside and did an intervention on me) there is no way I'll be able to crawl up the ladder here or hell, even hang on much longer. I am putting the polishing touches on my updated resume tonight and contacting some prospects tomorrow. Wish me all.
I've been working out twice a week in addition to the softball practice once a week and games all friggin' day on Sundays. I am starting to feel my energy level rise and starting to feel more muscular--things fitting differently. It is cool to be "obligated" by my word to show up to meet a friend. It really is a boost to getting up at 5:00 am and meet him at 5:30. I'm pretty proud of my accomplishments and keeping to the early bird thing. Now if I could just continue to curb my appetite once I finish... heh heh.
My ragtag, pick-up, no body wants us, step-children wearin' handmedown uniforms of a GAY/OPEN League team managed to win our D-Division [recreational] games. At least won to qualify to go to the Gay/World Series in Washington DC in August. We are now fundraising our asses off to try to defray costs. It shocked most of us and especially the league who has certain teams who are used to winning. They have been more cognizant of competition than I really necessary, but I've learned buttloads from my Coach and his assistants. [all said from the bench, of course.] This past week we played scrimmage games to fill in the slots from several forfeits. It was the first time that I played a whole game all season, despite making it to every practice and an out-of-town tourney. I not only played one game, but all three games. Needless to say, I'm hobbled a bit today. I shocked them with 2 line drives and more speed than they had credited me for, but Hey...whaddya expect? sometimes it takes some warming up to shine from the bench. [Shameless plug for CarWash/Garage sale this Saturday: 10-5 at the corner of 8th and Westlake. Maybe another location as well. Suggested $5.00 donation]
Trying very hard to say No to new things lately, so I can have more time to reflect and think on all that is rushing by me so fast these days. More for me...More to share with Amy. More normalalcy to the pace of life, my life, as a dog.
