I just realized... if I want to flirt with any of my companions in Fallout: New Vegas, I have to play a male character. The only companions you can flirt with are a homosexual male (voiced by Zachary Levi, which makes me squee) and a straight female. When are ladies gonna stop getting screwed over (even in seemingly insignificant ways) in video games?
And I swear... I can't find a single (gaming) broadcaster on justin.tv that doesn't wind up getting at least one homophobic/misogynistic asshat bitchface in the accompanying chat. They're full of people constantly using "gay" to describe things, or people making "go make me a sammich" type references when a female character shows up. It's starting to make me wonder why I even play games anymore, when those kind of people and that kind of behavior is sometimes condoned or even encouraged by the people who run the gaming industry. Ugh.
