life in sunnydale

Coming back was beginning to seem like a really bad idea. So many things had happened lately, demons and monsters...waking up next to different women...things were much more quiet in Tibet. I spent a few years there learning how to find my center and harness the beast, and since I've been back things have gone straight to hell. I've rarely been this confused before.

The streets of downtown Sunnydale were cold and desolate. I kept a nervous watch on the moon. Two more night until....the onlynoise that floated on the air were the distant humms of music floating up from the Bronze. Neon street light growled into the night splitting in half castign lemon yellow pools of light onto bits of the sidewalk.

Up ahead a scream...I tilted my head to the side, letting it register, then another, I sniffed the air..a young girl..scared. I dashed of fas fast as my legs could carry me towards the source. There tucked neatly in an alley was a vampire, not one of distinguishable importance, all the real big baddies had finally bene deserting Sunnydale.

A young female, no older than dawn lay lifeless in the demon's arms. Blood trickling down onto the pressed white collar of her shirt. I hesitated for a moment, I was crossless, stakeless, I had nothing. My emerald orbs darted around quickly surveying the scense, charging in unarmed would be a tragedy.

Then I saw it, a wooden crate..if I could just get to it before..he vampire's head snapped around mouth lined with blood, feral mouth twisting into a malformed grin. "Hello." The vampire tilted his head to the side, and sniffed. "Mmm werewolf, it's said to drink the blood of a werewolf is to truly taste a delicacy." With that he dropped the girl to the pavement her head hitting with a sickening thud.

My breathing became very fastpaced, I no longe rwanted to play hero. I wanted to run.

Black converse slapped against the pavement as I ran from the alleyway, I heard the slinking steps of the vampire behind me, getting closer, and closer.
