As far as I see it, music is an artform. Now, you can't put a pricetag on something like that. It's for everyone. The only reason why CD's cost money is because we gotta pay for the junk used to make it and for the recording company and stuff. But these artists seem to think that they deserve every little dime and penny!
I could udnerstand if it was some brand-new band or something who need the money. But if you think about it, the main way we hear music we want to download is through radio or borrowing CD's. Both of these also provide free access to music, although it's restricted.
Some kids simply can't afford CD's. Some like a certain few songs from a bunch of bands, and don't wants to waist the money buying every band's cd's when all they want are two or three songs.
I think that there are always going to be people who download. Even if there are lawsuits and virusis and the like, you just can't weed the all out.
