Name: Sakura Kinomoto
Age: 16
Series: Tsubasa R. Chronicle
Position/Ship: The Vic // Navigator
Appearance: Sakura is stronger than she looks, but people tend to underestimate her by judging her cute face. Fair and slight in stature with supple limbs and pale skin, she measures up to around 5'5", and weighs in at 115lbs. Her ash brown hair is uneven in length in certain places, hanging longest by her face. With her round, green eyes, and warm, adorable smile, it's hard to resist her, especially when you first meet her. Her clothing varies in style, but she's partial to dresses and gloves.
Personality: The first thing that those around Sakura should know is that she is a very genuine person. Her face and actions often reflect the emotions inside, but despite being good at keeping secrets, she is terrible at lying, and is easy to read, in most cases. Ever since she was a small girl, she's always had a sweet, loving, and caring soul, which translates to the young woman Sakura is today. She speaks her mind, but will try to have some restraint if she knows it will hurt someone.
Because she has grew up with no parents, she shows respect to her elders, and becomes particularly attached to women, because she never had a motherly figure in her life. Sakura is in general respectful to everyone, and understands when people need their space, which she will never invade, except when she feels that person needs company or a hug.
Sakura grows miserable when people get injured because of her, so if there is a task that must be done for her, she will try to do it herself and not get other people involved. No matter what she does, she will always do it to the best of her ability, even if she must shed blood or sacrifice her life.
Abilities/Weapons: Because she would rather not hurt people unless her life, or somebody else's life, was in danger, she doesn't carry her own weapon. If someone gives her one, she may use it, but only in cases of defense. There aren't any weapons that she's particularly efficient with, but as she does learn fast, it's possible for her to learn how to handle one well.
As for abilities, Sakura has only one that sets her apart from many. Since she was very young, she's been able to both sense the presence of and see spirits, in both human and animal form. Her family was aware of it, but usually if there is someone who doesn't know, she won't tell them. Some things are better to be kept a secret.
How well can she hack?: She can't.
Weaknesses: Emotional / Psychological: Sakura has a very big heart. She naturally sympathizes with things and people who are in trouble or are injured, which sometimes causes her pain in return, rendering her susceptible to extreme heartache. At times she will take responsibility for things that weren't entirely her fault, and will experience guilt for long periods of time if someone gets hurt on her behalf.
Physical: If Sakura goes without a memory feather for too long, her body will grow weak, and she'll faint right on the spot. Usually this only happens once every few weeks, and generally she'll wake up within two to three hours. There is nothing life-threatening about her loss of consciousness, and the only after-effect there is is a slight confusion about what happened. She usually feels very guilty if people find her, and will apologize profusely.
History: The early years of Sakura's life were simple and, for the most part, carefree. Her mother, a magic user and dreamseer (or a person who could enter people's dreams), passed away from an illness when she was three, and her father, a wealthy gentleman and scientist, died before her fifth birthday. Her older brother and heir to his parents' estate, Toya, became her primary caretaker from the day of their father's death, and was an influential figure in her life, in the place of the parents they had both lost.
The two of them lived together in Bellcius, the city that they had both grown up in, and it was the only city they knew. Being part of an upper class family was, in some ways, difficult, because sometimes she would have people watching her like bodyguards, and sometimes she wasn't permitted to leave the house. But Sakura always did find ways to sneak out from under the scrutiny. It did mean that her brother would have something to say about it, but their constant arguments, strangely enough, made the house more tolerable to live in.
Much of her childhood was spent with Toya and his close friend Yukito, but then everything changed when she met a boy named Syaoran when she was seven. Her brother never approved of the "brat", as he called him, so Sakura would risk her brother's anger whenever she went to see him. Over time, she became good friends with Syaoran, and despite the fact that he was of a lesser class than she (which she didn't care about; everyone was the same in her eyes), he'd became the only close friend she ever had, aside from her brother and Yukito.
They spent almost every moment together, from morning until night, sharing stories and creating new memories together. Their bond was unlike any other, devoid of that childhood innocence, and it was on her tenth birthday that Sakura realized needed Syaoran. She fell in love with him after their many years spent together, but never could bring herself to tell him. A young love, but she knew it was love nonetheless.
And then that fateful day came. When she and Syaoran were exploring a cave on the outskirts of the city, Sakura unknowingly walked into a circle of magic, written onto the cave floor so that they couldn't see when they'd entered. A strong and mysterious magic force erupted from the circle and enveloped her in a light, scattering, unbeknownst to them, her memories in the form of feathers across the continent. The force dissipated, and Sakura emerged cold and still.
Eventually it became known -- Yukito, a mage, was able to confirm this -- to her loved ones that her memories had been lost. Memories of her brother and their bickering, her hometown, of all the things she'd confided in Yukito about, everything she'd known about her time with Syaoran. All of it, gone. Sakura was frozen in a state of comatose, and remained unconscious for several weeks. After she woke, she spent a few days recuperating, during which time Syaoran, who she couldn't and still cannot remember, informed her of what had taken place. Everything that occurred after her awakening were new memories.
But Sakura couldn't bear the boy's determination to help her look for her feathers. It was her burden, and her problem, even if she was grateful for the sentiment. One night, she snuck out from her house, travelling many miles away from where she'd been in hopes of finding some opportunity to retrieve her feathers. But she didn't even know how many there were. She had no idea where to start. After a time, Sakura, who'd spent months prioritizing her life, decided that joining a military academy would be the best course of action in her mission. If she graduated, she could be deployed and have protection if she wanted to hunt for her feathers along the way.
Her body was young, but her heart matured during her time in the academy. After being informed of her assignment to the Victoria II, Sakura had high hopes, but soon realized that having high expectations would set her up for disappoint. Still a newbie to the ship, she has much more to learn, and many more people to meet. She may not find her all her feathers, but maybe new friendships will help her to learn that maybe forgetting her past was not in vain.
