Now that that is out of the way.
Its been a long while since I've last updated. I've since gotten a job working in the spruce tree genetics lab at school. It doesn't pay particularly well but its good experience. The main problem being I'm working ~30 hours a week which, on top of classes, is a bit much even for me. I do enjoy the job, I'm learning a lot and I work with good people. I'm mainly doing DNA extraction, which has a solid 5-6 hour protocol, making and running gels with said DNA, which also takes a good 3-4 hours, or just taking samples which is about as uninteresting as anything I've ever done.
Classes are all going fairly well. If I can get my last two papers done things should be smooth sailing. Adv. Developmental biology is a bit more work than I'd origionally bargained for but its really interesting.
Most importantly I've recently been awarded a scholarship so that I can get paid to do my honours research over the summer which is a dream come true. I'm still a little foggy on the exact details as I haven't hashed them out with my supervisor just yet but I'll likely be working in the LSC greenhouse unless something unexpected happens... damned insects better not ruin my experiment... so I'll still be at school all summer which, without classes or homework, has a strange appeal to it.
