Well Dennis this one's for you, that and it helps me to justify procrastinating.
Friday was a good day. After my first class I ran into Vicki who was done for the day, hung out chatting, had some chinese food, went to my second class. After that more hanging out, managed to get a hold of James met up with him at my house as we picked up some booze and my guitar. Pick up some more booze from the LC and mix then went down to the Citadel Hill where we met up with Jeff, drank, played guitar and generally made fools of ourselves.
Once it started getting dark and cold, which really was only about an hour after getting there, we headed to school so I could drop off the guitar at the DABS office and then just ended up drinking there for and hour and playing more guitar. It was Brendan's birthday and we'd been trying to get a hold of him earlier and he did end up calling whilst we were in the office. We rushed out to Subway for some food since none of us had really eatten. Met up with Brendan at the Gradhouse which was damn fun. I think I'll be going there more often in the future.
At the Gradhouse my buddy Nick was there with a few of his lab mates so we sat with him. We were watching the presidential debates and decided the only sensible option was to merge it with drinking. So we drank everytime they said the words "Iraq" "Weapons of Mass Destruction" and "War on Terror." This worked out for a little while but they got into some lines of dialog that just had us frantically swigging from our bottles/glasses. After about 20 minuntes of debate we just disolved the drinking game as we'd have never been able to keep up with the rate they were going at.
After being there for an hour or so this guy got up on stage and played. Just him and his accoustic, no miking whatsoever and no cover charge so not really making any money. No one else was paying attention so we went up and listened, cheered, and sang along. So he loved us. Afterwards we invited him over to have a drink with us. One minute later Jeff and I were up on stage with his guitar. One of Nick's buddies was so wasted that he came up and "danced" for us. It was disturbing. Then James and I played for a while. We must have been up there for some time. Anyway I sat down and chatted with the guy for a while afterwards but really can't remember anything he or I said.
We left the Gradhouse before too long, went to a kegger. I remember why I'm not big on keggers anymore. We had a good time but I really felt little urge to speak with any of the people there. James and Vicki kept talking to some guy who couldn't even keep his eyes open and mocking him. By the time we'd left Brendan had done a keg stand, Jeff and Brendan had made up some mildly complicated hand shake, and James had convinced several people he was a cop.
We then took off to the Marquee, I don't really remember much of the journey there except that Brendan jumped up on me and tried to get a piggy back ride and after maybe ten seconds I over compancated, lost my ballance and down we went. Then magically we were in the Marquee. I don't think I drank there which was probably a good thing. Ran into Melissa an old friend of mine and chatted with her and two of her friends. I'm pretty sure one of her friends was hitting on me but I don't remember well enough to be sure, didn't matter to me at the time and I left them to go look for the others. After a very short while James and I got into a converstation and took off for home.
While I don't really remember much of the walk home it took us a very long time. We ran into a busker by the second cup who only played Lynyrd Skynyrd songs so we had him play Simple Man and Tuesday's Gone. I made it home by 6:00 and passed out, woken at 1:00 to go out to breakfast which somehow I wasn't too hungover for. God I was hungover. All five of us made it out to breakfast somehow, wandered around town for a while then back to my place to smoke, hangout and watch a movie. Mean Girls is actually a good movie, who knew?
Thats pretty well everything that happened in excruciating detail. I'm sure I got half of it wrong but if so then I'm sure I'll be corrected by someone before long. Enjoy my tail.
